Soquel Drive appears as the "Country Road" on this 1868 map that lists some of the landowners who obtained their properties from the heirs of Soquel Rancho grantee Martina Castro. The property owned by Martina's daughter, Maria Guadalupe Lodge Averon, and her husband, Joseph Averon, is in the triangle between what is now Bay and Capitola Avenues.
